"The saturated purple-hued 2020 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard is stunning stuff. Coming from an unquestionably Grand Cru terroir just east of Santa Maria, it’s 100% Syrah that was 70% destemmed and aged 21 months in one-third new barrels. Awesome aromatics of bloody red and blue fruits, ground pepper, iron, woodsmoke, and subtle cigar nuances define the bouquet, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a lush, opulent, mouth-filling texture, sweet tannins, and a great finish.
